Alternate Dispute ResolutionsEarly Neutral Evaluations
Early Neutral Evaluation (ENE) is a confidential, voluntary, evaluative process designed to facilitate prompt dispute resolution in custody, parenting time (visitation), and financial matters.
The program offers effective problem solving approaches to assist parties in reaching resolution of family court cases before significant financial and emotional resources are expended on litigation. In ENE, parties meet with a neutral team who gives them a realistic view of their situation, with the goal of coming to a settlement agreement based on the recommendations and avoiding further court intervention. ENE is different from mediation; ENE’s are more guided, rather than facilitative. The process is also confidential; disclosures made during the process are not communicated to the court. The Court is only told if there was an agreement or that no agreement was reached. Many parties are very successful in resolving their case or at least narrowing the issues in their case through an ENE. Seymour Family Law has a comprehensive understanding of the ENE process and the benefits and advantages it provides to parents and their children.
